He is survived by: his mother Sally Gibson; his son Michael Chase; his daughter-in-law Lina Reed; his grandchildren, Neely Reed, Raylee and Kace Wenzel; his siblings, Sally Darlene Reed, Grady Reed and Bill Gibson; and his aunt Joyce Pirtle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His knowledge and experience in fire safety were unparalleled, and his contributions to his community in this capacity saved numerous lives.
