Scott Swangler wrote a sympathy message

“RJ Reid was a great friend and ship mate.We where together for approximately 3 years on board ship in Pearl Harbor. We went many places but,the most memorable place for all of the crew that were with us was,Bellows Beach.Along with Denny (Pardna), Britt,Stick Man,Hags,Ollie,And Sam.We all along with RJ turned out to be uncrowned frizz bee champions. I can still still see RJ taking aim with a frizz bee like he had a scope hooked on his wrist ,was the best time in our lives.Scott Swangler......”

Denis Thibodeau wrote a sympathy message

“Donna and Jared, I am so sorry about this. As you know, we were very good friends. We go back to our days on the USS Beaufort where we shared many good times together. I feel fortunate that we were able to continue that friendship since we last saw each other in the late 80's. I will miss his phone calls where we both enjoyed talking about our Navy days together or breaking news in the sports world. We shared many good laughs on those calls. I'll miss him and never forget him. Denis Thibodeau”
