We bid farewell to Russell Dean Chaney of Utopia, Texas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 26, 2025 at the age of 64. Russell touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his father Charles Linson Chaney; his grandparents, Aretha, Huey Wolff, Lena Bell Chaney and Charles Henderson Chaney; his mother Naoma Sue Chaney; and his siblings, Carol Yvonne Smith, Charles Linson Chaney and Michael Keith Chaney.
He is survived by: his wife Uphie Virginia Chaney of Utopia, Texas; his sons, Calvin Russell Chaney (Carroll) of New Braunfels Texas, Christopher Kyle Chaney of Utopia Texas and Matthew Kieth Chaney of Utopia, Texas; his sister Ranee Smith of New Braunfels, Texas.; and his grandchildren, Caeley Danielle Flowers (Caleb) of New Braunfels, Camryn Renee Chaney of New Braunfels, Landyn Michael Chaney of Utopia and Virginia Marie Chaney of Utopia.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ (132 Main St, Utopia, TX 78884). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Waresville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Utopia Volunteer Fire or Utopia EMS.
