With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Florencio Martinez of Uvalde, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 9, 2025 at the age of 77. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alicia Martinez (Robles) and Florencio Martinez; his wife Elena Gomez Martinez; his son Sammy Martinez; his grandson Marcos Martinez; his sister Estella Chapoy; and his daughter-in-law Rosa Araceli Martinez.
He is survived by: his children, Laurie Hernandez (Hector) of Andrews, Florencio Martinez, III of Hobbs and Isaac Martinez (Victoria) of Corpus Christi; and his siblings, Rosie Ibarra of Racine, Guadalupe Benitez of San Antonio, Jose Luis Tovar of San Antonio and Juan Tovar of San Antonio. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
