He is survived by: his wife Felice Vara of Uvalde; his children, Raymond Vara (Kimberly) of California, Mike Vara of Washington, Mark Vara (Christine) of California, Elias Barrera Jr. of Colorado, Sulema Rodriguez Jr. (Joaquin) of Uvalde, April Vara of Washington, Esmeralda Mikkelson (Ken) of New Mexico, Manuela Barrera of Colorado and Yvette Wyman (Don) of Colorado; and his siblings, Larry Vara of Sunray, Edie Misner of Arizona and Rosa Kingsford of Nevada.
