He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marvin Barnard and Mary Nell Barnard; and his brothers, James "Jimmy" Barnard and Larry Barnard. He is survived by: his wife Ann Barnard; his sister Carol Clark; his children, Justin (Haley Barnard) and Candice Barnard; and his grandchildren, Kristin (Kyle Cooper), Hayden Cooper, Jackson Cooper, Grace Barnard and Evelyn Barnard.
