He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Daniel McCook and Judith Callaway McCook; his brother Charles; his wife Debra Jones McCook; and his children, Meredith Joy (Harrison Poole), Megan Judith, Russell James (Benjamin Nissen-McCook) and David Randolph (Natalie Buban).
