Sandra Kay Garrett Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra Kay Garrett of Van, Texas, born in Mineola, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 8, 2026 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her former husband Dr. William J. Garrett, Jr.; her parents, Anna Huntley Stevens and A. M. "Steve" Stevens; her sister Suzanne Stevens Sanders; and her nephew Blake Sanders (Kathy Sanders).
She is survived by: her husband Dr. W. J. Garrett; her granddaughter Amelia Arthur of Denton, Texas; her brother Bobby Stevens (Judy Stevens) of Cedar Park, Texas.; her great great grandchild Collins Leggett; her great grandchild Bennett Bailey; her stepdaughter Rev. Mary Ann Garrett (Bill Ashby) of Fredericksburg; her grandson Michael Thying, Jr. (Susan Thying) of Ben Wheeler; her great grandchild Emily Thying Leggett (Parker Leggett) of Abilene; and her friends, Patty, Chuck Kotlarz, Dian Shelton, Dana Cotton, Karen Pyle, Jennifer Anders Cole and Phyllis McCaffrey. She is also survived by many stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Instead of flowers, the family invites memorial contributions in her honor to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
