We are sad to announce that on August 15, 2025, at the age of 66, Susan Austin of Van, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Susan's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Susan has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Darwin Smith and Frieda Dengler Smith; and her sister Sondra Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Steve Austin of Van; her sons, Doug Austin of Van and Nolan of Van; her daughter-in-law Cristalynn Austin of Van; her sister Barbara; her brother-in-law Danny Ford of Ben Wheeler; and her grandchildren, Jaden Austin, Gracie Butler, Decklyn Tapper and Sophia Austin.
