He was predeceased by : his father Adan Gutierrez; and his brother Paul Fuentes. He is survived by : his mother Andrea Rodriguez; his children, Bethany Elena Gutierrez and Adan J. Gutierrez III; his siblings, Maria J. Moreno (Richard) of Schulenburg, Mabel F. Salinas of Victoria, Rose Mendoza, Eleazar Gutierrez, Elda Gutierrez, Hipolito Carranza, Freddie Fuentes, Elias R. Fuentes Jr., Julian Gutierrez, Carlos Gutierrez, Hector Gutierrez and Smiley Gutierrez; and his grandsons, Timothy A. Gutierrez, Andrew J. Gutierrez and Noah Nicholas Weyand. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (208 W River St, Victoria, TX 77901). Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Angel Lucy's Funeral Home - Main (706 E Crestwood Dr, Victoria, TX 77901). A rosary was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Angel Lucy's Funeral Home (706 E Crestwood Dr, Victoria, TX 77901). He attended Mass daily, on Sundays, and held a Bible Study in his home which went remote after COVID.
