She was predeceased by: her parents, David Leon and Mary Elizabeth Yarbrough Britt; her siblings, Adele Cole, Geneva Haithcock, Wade Britt, Don Britt and Roger Britt; her children, Ruth Mallory and T. J. Nelson; and her grandson Clay Stafford.

She is survived by: her spouse P. M. Nelson; her daughters, Ann Taft (Tom) of Friendswood and Ginny Stafford (Johnny) of Victoria; her sister Betty Harlan; and her grandchildren, Pam Nelson, Toby Taft, Travis Holmes, Bradley Stafford and Carla Nolen (Kyle).
