He was predeceased by: his parents, John Christopher Sweeney and Myrtle Irene Sweeney (Lester); and his wife Amelia "Millie" Sweeney. He is survived by: his sons, Christopher (Phyllis), Charles (Peggy), James (Brenda) and John (Tracey); his grandchildren, Amanda (Stephen), Kevin, Melanie (Michael), Trey, Bethany, Brandi and Ryan (Kelly); his great grandchildren, Cameron, Alyssa, Tyler, Ryan-David, Mason, MaKayla, Makenzie, Dean, Bradley, Brianna, Patrick and Amelia; his sister Clothyle Haney of Conroe, Texas; and his sister-in-law Jeane Kleiber of Victoria. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
