He was predeceased by: his parents, Dannie Andrew Hoad and Ruby Oleta Vinson Hoad; and his siblings, Peggy Littlefield (Charles), Wanda Payne (Ralph) and Bob Hoad (Betty).

He is survived by: his wife Joy Hoad (Sutter) of Victoria; his children, Dee Wheeler (Winston), David Hoad (Gail) and Daina Grace (Rick); his brother Bill Hoad (Raenell) of Victoria; his grandchildren, Niki Visconti, Brad Grace (Stephanie), Will Wheeler (Jenn), Geoff Wheeler (Celia), Darren Grace, Caitlin Carver (Derek) and Cassidy Kloepper (Jacob); and his caregivers, Yomara Charles, Nina Aguirre, Valerie Aguirre, Janice Rodriguez, Laurie Chavez, Yolanda Davila, JoAnna Rodriguez and Debbie Valenzuela. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
