She was predeceased by: her parents, Presentacion Garces and Maria Garces; her husband Alfredo "Fred" Vela; her brother Alberto "Beto" Garces; her daughter Sandra A. Vela; and her grandsons, Brandon R. Garcia and Alfredo Vela III.
She is survived by: her children, Alfredo Vela Jr. (Iliana) of Deer Park, Alfonso J. Vela (Maribel) of Houston, Manuel R. Vela of Victoria, Cynthia Vela Molina (David) of Victoria and Olga Hernandez of Seadrift; and her sister Gloria Reyes (Manuel) of Sugarland. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Grace Funeral Home (2401 Houston Hwy, Victoria, TX 77901). A rosary will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (208 W River St, Victoria, TX 77901). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Resurrection Cemetery (1009 E Mockingbird Ln, Victoria, TX 77904).
