He is survived by: his significant other Isabel Lara; his children, Michelle Rios (David), Laurie Ruiz (Jerry), JoAnn Cortez (Paul), Kris Ruiz, Jose Luis Ruiz Denver (Keeshondra) and Brandon Grimaldo (Brandi); his siblings, Debbie Lara of San Antonio, Margaret Lara of Hallettsville, TX, Leonel Lara of Bloomington, TX and Joel Lara (Julia); his nephews, Fred (Melissa Nesloney), George Lara and Joey Lara; and his niece Alexis Lara. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
