She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucille Kolos and Louis Kolos; and her siblings, Louise "Sugy" Kolos and Victor Kolos. She is survived by: her children, Terence Byrn (Dawn Holland) and Ryan Byrn (Laura); her grandchildren, Tristan and Halle; her son Michael Byrn; her grandchild Alexis; her son Mark Hopkins (Wesley Hopkins); her siblings, Katherine Ullah, Elizabeth McGregor, Linda Matlege and Jean Mitchel; and her niece Nicole Gilliam (Ruben Gilliam). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to South Texas Hospice in JoAnn's honor, in gratitude for the compassionate care she received.
