He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Lewis Cano and Sophie Ames Cano; his brother Martin Douglas Cano; and his grandparents, Cecilio Flores, Guadalupe Flores, John F. Cano and Eligia Zamaripa Cano.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Trevino Cano; his children, Jennifer Cano (Bridget) and Julius D. Cano; his sister Martha Cano Simpson (Jerry Simpson); his sister-in-law Rose Ann Cano; and his brother Jeffrey Dale Cano (Lisa Cano). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends.
In recognition of his contributions to the community, Julius was honored with the Spirit of Excellence Award by the Greater Victoria Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on March 31, 1998.
