She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Marek Sr. and Pauline Hilser Marek; her husband Victor A. Chovanec; and her siblings, Felix Marek, Albert Marek, Frank Marek, Vlad Marek, Pete Marek, Robert Marek, Rosie Valigura, Josephine Dornak and Lillian Vrana.
She is survived by: her sons, Darrel Chovanec (Naomi) and Mark Chovanec (Lisa); her grandchildren, Candice Melzow (Billy), Clint Chovanec (Laura), Jordan Chovanec (Monica) and Tyler Chovanec (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Anna Melzow, Masyn Chovanec and Nora Chovanec; and her brother Marvin Marek (Carolyn). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Victory Cathedral, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Hospice of South Texas, or the charity of your choice.
