He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Girdy and Algerita Wyatt Girdy; his former wife Naomi Johnson Girdy; his siblings, Virgie Mae Girdy Brown (Cleveland Holmes) and Larry "Meme" Donnell Girdy; his siblings-in-law, Ricardo "Rick" Lopez and Olga "Ogie" Martinez (Joel); his nephew Ashton Martinez; and his grandson Rodney Nelson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Douglas "Doug" Girdy (Diane), Margaret Fumbanks and Maria "Lupe" Sanchez; his siblings-in-law, Helen Lopez and Lupe "Pito" Luna (Sundown); his siblings' children, Rita Schleuss (Michael), Pete Girdy, Jr. (Sharon), Tracy Cantu (Omero), Latricia "Shawn" Shelton and Chantelle Girdy; his grandchildren, Pete Girdy, III, Brandon Girdy, Brenton Girdy, Arqueze Girdy, Londray "Rashee" Brown, Raekwon Brown, DeQuan Cantu, Chamera Cantu, Dwight Williams, Kayla Sneed, Jalen Cole and Cy Cole; and his wife Rita. He is also survived by other loving family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
