Roger Maywald Obituary

We announce the death of Roger Maywald (Victoria, Texas), who passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 85. Roger will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Maywald and Marietta Maywald; and his wife Lonnie Ficklin. He is survived by: his daughter Lea Ann Griffis (Mike) of Florence, CO; his stepchildren, Toni Ficklen Day (Randy) of Discovery Bay, CA, Lindsey Ficklen (Pam) of Cuero and Dr. David Ficklen (Teri) of Iola; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie Wyble (Bo) of Azle, Dalton Griffis (Jacqi) of Florence, CO, Ashlee Hallock (Dreesen) of Little Elm, Matt Day (Jessica) of Magnolia, Austin Day (Shelly) of Brentwood, CA, Erika Breuer (Tanner) of Cleveland, Marco Pardo (Jenna) of Iola, Amanda Johnson (Taylor) of Dumas, Ryan Ficklen (Signe) of Iola, Jacob Ficklen of College Station, Justin Ficklen (Kirsten) of College Station, Adam Ficklen of College Station and Jeri Elizabeth Ficklen of College Station. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous other loving family members and friends.
