As Richard departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Richard leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Byrd and Mattie Byrd; and his grandparent Grandpa Walker (Grandma Walker). He is survived by: his significant other Roma Francis Cox; his children, Richard Byrd Jr., Ronda Phillips and Reese Byrd; and his daughter-in-law Shelly Byrd. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
