We announce the death of Ruby Lee Sikes of Vidor, Texas, born in Beaumont, Texas, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 93. Ruby will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Ruby will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Ruby will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Ruby’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She is survived by: her children, James W. Sikes Jr. (Brenda) of Vidor, Texas, Karen Kay Atkins (Cecil) of Harper, Texas and Lisa Romeis (Steve) of Orange, Texas; and her sibling Billie Darlene Houston of Beaumont, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor (1750 TX-12, Vidor, TX 77662). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
