He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel C. Casares, Sr. and Concepcion L. Herrera; and his brothers, Juan and Roberto. He is survived by: his wife Maria E. Casares; his children, Carmen Casares-Cernoch (Zak), Norma Zamarripa (Robert), Robert M. Casares (Daisy), Isabel Rios (Mario), John Casares, Andrea Casares-Plascencia (Eric) and Andrew Casares; his grandchildren, Julie Cernoch, Maddie Cernoch, Seth Zamarripa, Belicia Zamarripa, Maya Zamarripa, Matthew Casares, Emma Casares, Nicholas Casares, Mireya Rios and Isela Rios; and his brother Enrique H. Casares. He is also survived by extended family, dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home (226 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Church (1204 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
