Alvis Mitchell left this world on July 15, 2025 at the age of 79, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Lewis and Alma Lewis (Till); and his siblings, Ron, Kay Blankenship and Sue Channon.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Jared Acker (Misty), Eric Lewis, Corey Carlisle (Nadine), Randy Carlisle (Jenni), Joey Carlisle (Melissa), Cara Bowling (Kevin), Candace Bland (Jeremiah) and Michael Lewis (Michelle); his grandson Caleb Carlisle; his great grandchild Elijah; and his grandchildren, Zachary Carlisle, Kaitlyn, Aubrielle, Peter, Isabella Winter, Riley, Colt, Weston Carlisle, Camden Wilson, Charlotte, Madison, Hannah Bowling, Claire, Abby Bland, Tanner, Sierra Acker, Alyssa, Jasmin Luna and Ethan Collier.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home (6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco, TX 76710). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Beacon Hill Baptist Church (1912 Monte Vista St, Waco, TX 76711).
