He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarance Speights and Ada Marie Speights; his brothers, Billy Speights, Johnny Speights, Alvin Speights and Wesley Speights; and his grandson Kevin Bailey.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Speights; his sons, Ernie Speights of Whitney, Gary Speights (Kyli) of Whitney, Henry Speights of Whitney and David Speights of Whitney; and his siblings, Sandra Schutes and Floyd "Boogie" Speights of Nocona. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
