He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Thompson and Iva Thompson; his wife Edna June Thompson; his uncle Stephen; his aunt Dorothy Waldike; his brother-in-law David Hyde; and his great grandchild Cooper John Anderlik.
He is survived by: his sister Francis Hyde of Springfield; his children, Steve Thompson (Sandra) of Woodway, Barbara Thompson-Skolaski of Woodway and Ellen Watson (Wynn) of Axtell; his grandchildren, Jessica (Grady Norton) of College Station, Ashley (Scott Anderlik) of Richardson, Sydney (Jim Rhodes) of Gainesville and Austin Thompson of Woodway; and his great grandchildren, Jed, Gentry Norton, Ryleigh, Harper Anderlik, Arrow, Boone Potts, James, Joy and Juniper Rhodes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 8:30 AM at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home (6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco, TX 76710). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Waco Memorial Park (6623 I-35, Robinson, TX 76706).
