She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Henry Comer and Edna Comer; her sister Marlene Sheruda; her siblings-in-law, Glynn and LaVerne Davis; and her niece Paula Davis.
She is survived by: her husband D. Jack Davis; her son Paul R. Davis (Colleen) of Ft Worth; her grandchildren, Reid H. Davis of Houston and Hannah R. Davis of Dallas; her stepgrandson Jacob Allan Wheeler of Arlington; and her nieces and nephews, Greg Scott of Jacksonville, Reverand Robert Scott of Clearwater, Anne Scott of Christ Church, Melinda Davis Jones of Pittsburg and Cindy Davis Dumas of Flower Mound.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Nurses' Foundation's Gail C. Davis Nursing Research Award, the Gail C. Davis Nursing Research Award at the University of Minnesota, The Gail C. Davis Graduate Fellowship in Nursing at Texas Woman's University or the Endowment for the Support of the Gail C. Davis History of Nursing and Medicine Collection at Texas Woman's University.
