It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Neal Hurst of Waco, Texas, who passed away on May 8, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frank Hurst and Ida Mae Broadway Hurst. He is survived by: his wife Gail Hurst; his daughters, Holly Bennett (Douglas) of Waco and Heather Bowdoin (Caleb) of McGregor; his grandchildren, Michael Bennett, Kathryn Bennett, Meredith Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Hayden Strahan, Wyatt Bowdoin and Huck Bowdoin; and his brother Jim Hurst (Judy) of Waco. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Grace Gardens Funeral Home (8220 Woodway Dr, Woodway, TX 76712). A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Rosemound Cemetery (3201 S 12th St, Waco, TX 76706).
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice, Top Hand Cowboy Church, or the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
