He is survived by: his wife Beth; his daughters, Christi Stanton (Wally) and Joey Groce (Mark); his grandchildren, Kaden Fisk, Kenadee Fisk, Ryan Stanton and Reagan Stanton; his brother Derry Harding (Carolyn); his half-sister Marie Lomonaco; and his sisters-in-law, Wilma Blanks and Dolores Gillespie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“I grew up in Waco, and recall with great fondness listening to Herb Harding in the mornings before school. My favorite standout memory of his incredible try humor wit was his prolonged "commercial" for Jack 'n Jill donuts. Herb announced that they would be discontinuing their frosted donuts - chocolate, strawberry and maple - to make room for their new line of vegetable donuts. His favorite was the asparagus donut.
