He is survived by: his sons, Jack McCarter IV, Andrew Patrick McCarter and Benjamin Isaac McCarter (Erika); and his siblings, Bettie Rose McCarter Boyd and Joseph Parnell McCarter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
