He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Mimms of Glen Rose, TX and Dorothy Preston of Gholson, TX.. He is survived by: his wife Raquel Mimms (Rodriguez); his brother Kenneth Mimms (Sonya); and his siblings-in-law, Martha Ibarra (Jose), Ofelia Rodriguez, Lidia Friederick (Dave), Eunice Rodriguez, Grace Sodawasser (Gary), Mario Rodriguez (Victoria), Victor Rodriguez and Steven Rodriguez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
James had a long battle with illnesses including Parkinson's disease.
