With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Mengers of Waco, Texas, who passed away on August 21, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mattie Hopkins and Charles Hopkins Sr.; and her siblings, William, Jesse, Charles Hopkins, Jr., Lois and Gladys.

She is survived by: her daughter Shelley Carter of Austin; her granddaughter Lindsay Carter Frith (Joel Frith) of Hayes, Kansas; her great grandchild Owen Thomas Frith; her grandson Grant Carter (Eloise Ross) of Austin; and her close friends, Diana, Ron Prewitt of Bastrop, Faith, Bobby Perkins of Asheville, Karen, Bill Stone of Austin and Dwayne King of Woodway.
