It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Sanchez of Waco, Texas, born in Coolidge, Texas, who passed away on February 27, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donaciano Sanchez and Refugia Moreno Sanchez; and his siblings, Don "Chon" Sanchez, Manual Sanchez, Rudy Sanchez, Pete Sanchez, Ray Sanchez, Gilbert Sanchez, Robert Sanchez, Mary Felan and Irene Garza.
He is survived by: his brother Ernest Sanchez (Irene); and his children, Jose Sanchez Jr. (Becky), Debbie Gutierrez, Rosie Sais (Gilbert), B. J. Sanchez, Mandy Sanchez and Renee Sanchez. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was a welder by trade, a longtime member of Waco Missions, Incorporated (a charity organization), a loving father and grandfather, and an accomplished artist, golfer, and boxing coach.
