With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Johnny Van Matre in Waco, Texas, born in Edinburg, Texas, who passed away on March 20, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ralph, Harvey, Melvin, Clovis, Bill, Alice, Clara and Lois; and his parents, Mamie "Bunch" and Clovis Van Matre.
He is survived by: his children, Mike (Dorreen) of Jefferson and Robin (Jim Newman) of Longview; the mother of his children Bonnie Lange; his siblings, Dora Harper, Margie Strader (Ashley) and Joe (Jennifer); his grandson Matthew Newman; and his wife Catherine Jewell Saddler of Robinson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid concerns, there will be no gathering following services.
