She was predeceased by: her parents, Clem Bryant and Mary Bryant; her sister Joan Donaldson; her son Sam Yates Jr.; and her brothers-in-law, Bill Donaldson and Danny Havis.
She is survived by: her husband Samuel Yates, Sr.; her stepchildren, Dori Smith and Carrie McBride; and her sister Lucy Havis. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
