Kay Avant Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kay Avant (Waco, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 11, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lem Coalson and Evelyn Coalson. She is survived by: her husband Gayle Avant; her sister Lana Malone (Mike); her daughters, Samantha Foss (Kevin) and Celia Drews (Stephen); her grandchildren, Angela Foss, Paige Mann (Jamie) and Kayleigh Aulin (Charlie); and her great grandchildren, Braylee, Dalynn, Hallie Mann, Luke and Sophia Aulin. She is also survived by niece and a nephew and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kay C. Avant, RN, PhD, FNI, FAAN Endowed Scholarship for PhD Studies in Nursing at UT Health Science Center San Antonio, Lake Shore Baptist Church or the church of your choice.
