He is survived by: his wife Charline Smith; his children, David Carney, Dusty Hampton (Sallie), Jonny Carney (Cecile), Steve Carney (Yolanda), Jamie Batey (Charlie), Glenell Bankhead (Jerry) and Patricia Carney; his grandchildren, Shayne, Tyler, Clara Hampton, Samantha, Sarah Bankhead, James Batey (Ashley), Justin Batey and Darian McNew (Aaron); and his great grandchildren, Logan, Declan and Jessie McNew.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pecan Grove Funeral Home (3124 Robinson Dr, Waco, TX 76706). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Rosemound Cemetery (3201 S 12th St, Waco, TX 76706).
