He is survived by: his brother Waco; his former wife Jeanette Von Hoven; his family Jeanette; his sisters-in-law, Dixie Lee Reed and Shirley Ann Reed; his daughter Ardis Hawkins (Randy); his granddaughters, Shannon Carufe (Tony Carufe), Melanie Martin (Evan Martin), Bonnie Cave (Tyler Cave) and Meredith McCurry (Marshall McCurry); his great grandchildren, Vivian, Jack Carufe, Ellis, Cora, Miles, June Martin, Daphne, Marlowe Cave and Murphy McCurry; Rona and Jeaneale. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
