We are sad to announce that, on August 23, 2021, at the age of 74, Melvin Bartley Sr. of Waco, Texas, born in Lubbock, Texas passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Melvin Bartley Sr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leah Somers Bartley and Melvin Bartley; and his sisters, Ann Bartley and Jodie Carrell. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his son Melvin Wayne Bartley, Jr. (Amy) of Prosper; his granddaughter Kelsie Ann Bartley of Oklahoma City; his stepdaughters, Tricia Young (Chris) of Benicia, CA. and Tasha King (Audra) of Iowa City, IA.; his grandchildren, Alivia, Clarity, Cashton and Anderson; and his friend Sammy Citrano. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers Melvin requested that donations be made to Cornerstone Assistance Network of North Central Texas.

“My heart is so sad tonight thinking of my sweet Papa Smurf. He was always like a Dad to me and very protective when we worked together on storm duty or hail clinics. He had a wicked sense of humor, but an even bigger heart for those that were closest to him. I remember singing to him on his birthday while on storm duty in Florida.. Even after leaving the company, I called every year and sang to him. We always told each other we love you! Heaven gained a sweetie. All my love to you Pat.”
