He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Clare and Patrick Leonard; his granddaughter Molly Mae Marthens; and his siblings, Padraig Leonard of Cork, Dr. John Leonard of Orlando, Florida and Dr. Ann Leonard of London, England..

He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Michael Leonard of Waco, Dr. Patricia McRae (Philip) of Houston and Ann Marie Marthens of Dallas; and his grandchildren, Catherine, Caroline, Andrew McRae, Mary, Maggie and Madeline Marthens. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made in Michael's honor to The Salvation Army or a charity of one's choice.
