Penny Herring Flood Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on January 16, 2026, at the age of 80, Penny Herring Flood of Waco, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Jack W. Herring and Daphne Norred Herring of Waco; her son Joseph Hugh Flood III; her brothers-in-law, Stephen Thomas "Tommy" Flood and David Michael Foley; her brother Paul William Herring; and her nephew Michael Joseph Flood.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Flood of Waco; her children, Dr. Kellie Flood of Birmingham, Alabama, Jack Flood (Julia) of Frisco, Elizabeth Flood Rizzo (Jack) of Grand Prairie and Reece Flood (Erin) of Hewitt; her grandchildren, Genevieve Rizzo, Joseph Flood IV, Angelo Rizzo, Jack Rizzo II, Adam Flood and Isaac Flood; her nieces and nephews, Lisa Johnson, Linda Johnson, Gina Sundet, Kathleen Green, Julie Avila, Jennifer Harvey, Matthew Foley, Kyle Herring, John Herring and Lance Herring; and her sisters-in-law, Lillian Flood, Mary Ellen Foley and Carolyn Herring.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Three Oaks Hospice in Dallas (http://www.threeoakshospice.com), or to our 9th annual 'Flood Family & Friends Team' in this year's Waco Walk to End Alzheimer's (act.alz.org/goto/FloodFamilyAndFriends). We will be dedicating our participation in this year's event to the loving memory of Penny and all who struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
