It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pete O. Gutierrez of Waco, Texas, who passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Guadalupe Gutierrez and Tomasita Gutierrez (Ortega); his wife Alifonsa Bustamante Gutierrez; his siblings, Mary Resendez, Moses Gutierrez, Vicky Resendez, Uvaldo Gutierrez, Tommie Rodriguez and Lucy Garcia; and his granddaughter Lori Zarate.
He is survived by: his children, Pete Gutierrez Jr. of Waco, Richard Gutierrez Sr. (Angela) of Hewitt, Christopher Gutierrez (Shea) of Abbott, Rosie Zarate (Jose) of Hillsboro, Barbara Gutierrez of Waco and Theresa Ostrom (Ronald) of China Spring; his grandchildren, Joey Zarate, Nikki Rhea (Alan), Ruben Chavez Jr. (Melissa), Richard Gutierrez Jr., Derrick Chavez, Roman Carreon (Maria), Arthur Maldonado (Cynthia), Andre Santiago, Brittany Poole (Jordan), Regan Henry (Blake), Ryan Maldonado, Fallyn Kolar (Aaron), Michelle Senter (Clark) and Trenton Gutierrez (Kayla); his siblings, Marcie Lopez of Waco and Frank Gutierrez of Waco; and his sister-in-law Lupita Alexander (Wanda Bustamante) of Seton.
