He is survived by: his son Daniel; his granddaughter Kayla Elaine; his parents, Myrna Lyons and Allen Lyons of Blum; his wife Kathy (Katharine Ann); his daughter Kayla of Waco; his stepson Bryan Slayton (Jaylee Hilliard); his children, Everlee Slayton of Belton, Bella, Bryan and Ben of Keene; his child-in-law Wichita Falls; his sister Diane Phelps (Mark); his children, Krystal, Amber and Joshua; his sister Mary Lynn Macsas (Leslie); his daughter Cherri Oswald; his uncle Dean Lyons (Connie); and his aunt Rene Lyons.
In his younger years, Ray was a part of the American Christian Heritage Foundation and he was awarded certificates of merit in music at Crowley High School.
