He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Bill Hawkins, Sr. and Vanita Hawkins; his wife Lois LaDean Phillips Hawkins; his son Jeffery Hawkins; and his siblings, Julius Bill Hawkins, Jr., Brian Hawkins, Benny Hawkins, Boyd Hawkins and Barbara LaDean Hawkins Woodruff.
He is survived by: his daughter Debra; his son-in-law David Miller; his son James Hawkins; his grandchildren, Robert David Miller, Christine Rene Miller and Rachel Hawkins; and his great grandchildren, Zaccatus Miller, Atticus Miller, Andrea Pena, Elijah Johnson Hawkins and Elaina Hawkins. He is also survived by great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
