She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Brittain and Laura Brittain; her husband Bill Averitt; and her siblings, Burl Brittain, Noel Brittain, J. L. Brittain, Elna Frazier, Villa May Roden, Lillian Gary, Etta East and LaVerne Nelson.

She is survived by: her sons, Joe Bill Averitt (Debby), Kip Averitt (Ginger) and Kyle Averitt (Beth Ann); and her grandchildren, Bill Joe Averitt (Katy), Sally McPhetrige (Scot), Rich Averitt (Erika), Michael Averitt, Daniel Averitt, Kristina Averitt, Anna Cutchen (Matthew) and Scott Smith (Allison). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
