She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Mary Schmiedekamp and Henry Schmiedekamp; her daughter Ruth; her husband Terry Downes; her daughter Dr. Kim Wilkins; her son-in-law Frank Wilkins; her grandson Tristan Wilkins; her daughter Terese Henry; her son-in-law David Henry; and her sisters-in-law, Louise Welch, Darlene (Terry Taylor) and Dixie (Glenn Horn). She was also cherished by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a favorite animal charity.
