She was predeceased by: her parents, Pedro Olvera and Petra Olvera (Rangel); her son Victor Olvera Cortez; and her siblings, Gloria Vanputton, Albert Olvera and Pete Olvera.
She is survived by: her husband Jiamie Cortez; her children, Christopher Michael Cortez, Jiamie Cortez II (Lorraine), Kathy Nicole Cortez (John), Deborahkay Bascus (Jessie) and Mary Castillo; and her siblings, Martha Banda (Frank), David Olvera (Christina) and Lucio Olvera (Cindy). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lake Shore Funeral Home & Crematory (5201 Steinbeck Bend Dr, Waco, TX 76708).
