He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara Jean Carter and Rev. Eugene Carter; and his sister Lisa E. Carter King. He is survived by: his wife Wilhelmenia "Vicky"; his stepson Nathaniel L. Thompson; his sister Carmen "Candy" Carter; and his nieces and nephews, Erica Nicole King, Dana Byrd, Christopher Scott King and Tyrone Wright.
He participated in various programs at the church as a youth and adult; these included being an usher, attending Vacation Bible School, participating in holiday plays, and most recently providing Sunday morning church pickup service for the elderly and disabled prior to COVID-19.
