We announce the death of Faye McAlpin of Warren, Texas, who passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 100. Faye will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Neal W. Read and Inez Glenn Read; her husband Sammie Ayers McAlpin; her granddaughter Raven Rogers; and her brothers, J. D. Read, Billy Dale Read and Ivison Read.
She is survived by: her children, Walter McAlpin (Renea) of Colmesneil, Melinda Belt (Darrell) of Village Mills and Pamela Tipton (Jeff) of Lumberton; her sister Florine Wacasey of Friendswood; and her grandchildren, Teri Hawthorne, Kacie Brookshire, Ashlee Belt, Trent Tipton, Christopher Tipton of Reid Tipton, J. J, Tassin, Dana Cook and Tanner McAlpin. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home (113 W Holly St, Woodville, TX 75979). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
