He was predeceased by: his grandmother Lula Belle Bullard; his parents, W. W. "Bill" Settles and Ann Mathews; his wife Mildred Settles; and his stepdaughter Patricia Lynette.
He is survived by: his daughter Leeayn; his son-in-law Mark Byrd; his grandchildren, Holly Stout (Brian) and Jenni Steel (Tony); his great grandchildren, Addison, Landry Steel, Austin and Hunter Stout; his sons, Jimmy Settles (Maggie) and Scott Settles; his grandchildren, Peyton and Colen Settles; his brothers, Larry Settles (Mary) and Chuck Mathews (Denise); and his close friend Judy Johnson.
